Mike is an experienced and successful advisor / consultant to the Product Finishing Industry; an experience gained in 44 years of involvement in the various industries associated with surface coatings and product finishing.
He has a proven track record in General Management, Technical Services, Sales and Marketing Management and in recent years has achieved positive results from the incorporation of the philosophy of Total Quality Management within client companies.
He has a Diploma in Marketing and is:
- A Member of the Oil and Colour Chemists Association;
- A Fellow of the Institute of Metal Finishing;
- An Associate of the Paint Research Association;
- A Member of the Institute of Corrosion
- An Accredited Consultant to National Surface Engineering Centre (NASURF)
He is known throughout the UK Organic Finishing Industry and has wide experience in International Markets particularly USA, France, Scandinavia, and the Middle East.
His career includes an initial period as Industrial Chemist in the Paint and Polymer Industry. Subsequently, he developed a successful career of increasing responsibility in Marketing, Technical Services and General Management within the allied industries of Surface Coatings and Fluid Handling.
Mike has published numerous articles on the subject of product finishing for trade journals and has written several books, including Training for Total Quality Management (A DIY Manual for TQM Implementation, 1989); Six Steps to Better Electrostatic Powder Coating (SITA Technology - August 1995); Powder Coating - Volume II, A Practical Guide to Equipment, Processes, and Productivity at a Profit (Wiley/SITA – 1999)
His strengths include the ability to practically motivate and influence employees to meet goals with confidence by providing a ‘hands-on’ approach.
